The release date to the fourth installment to the "Batman: Arkham Knight" video game franchise has been pushed back, creators say they need more time to make it 100% awesome.
The upcoming adventure-action video game collaborated by Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is based on the DC superhero "Batman". It is the fourth installment, following "Batman: Arkham Origins" released in 2013.
Other "Batman: Arkham" video games include main games "Batman: Arkham Asylum" (2009), "Batman: Arkham City" (2011), and other games such as "Batman: Arkham City Lockdown" (2011), "Batman: Arkham Origins (mobile)" (2013) and "Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate" (2013).
Dax Ginn, marketing producer of Rocksteady talks to Newsarama about what gamers will experience upon the "Batman: Arkham Knight" release date. He says, "So, 'Batman: Arkham Knight' picks up about 12 months after the end of Arkham City. And the focus of this game from a narrative perspective is really on what happens in Gotham after the death of Joker. So Scarecrow's return has really brought about a completely new dynamic for Batman because Scarecrow unifies the other [villains in the] rogues gallery, whereas Joker was very much about divide and conquer, so the narrative focus of the game is really how [the player], as Batman, take[s] on a unified rogues gallery in a way they've never encountered before."
"Batman: Arkham Knight" release date was originally set for October 14, 2014, however it has been moved to June 2, 2015. Guy Perkins, Rocksteady marketing game manager explains to Game Spot, "If we didn't give the team more time to do it, then we would be releasing something that we weren't happy with. We want to make sure we're absolutely nailing it 100%."
As for new villains apart from Scarecrow, Penguin, Two-Face, Harley Quinn and Riddler, no new characters have been revealed so far. However, Game Director Sefton Hill confirms that a super villain is set to battle it out with Batman. He says "We wanted someone to challenge Batman, someone who can go head-to-head with him."
