According to earlier Da Vinci's Demons Season 3 spoilers, the early life of the lead character, played by Tom Riley, will be explored. This is after she discovered where and who her real mother is in the finale of the second season. Leonardo was shocked after his father Piero (played by David Schofield) revealed that her mother is the one seating beside the Sultan. Next season, his quest will be to find her mother and find out how she ended up working with the Sultan. Part of this story includes narration of Leonardo's backstory.
While most of the scenes in the first two seasons were shot in Swansea, Da Vinci's chronicles will be shot in Cardiff's Castell Coch. According to BBC UK, shooting the scenes for some episodes of Da Vinci's Season 3 have started.
"Cardiff's Castell Coch has become the backdrop for scenes for the new series of Da Vinci's Demons.
As part of the filming at the gothic castle, 15th Century warriors were on the lookout along with their weapons and a dismembered horse.
The series tells the story of a young Leonardo Da Vinci facing an uncertain future in Renaissance Florence.
Game of Thrones and Nanny McPhee star Eros Vlahos were among those filming at the castle on the edge of Cardiff."
While discovering the past of the lead artisan will be a huge element in the show's return, the future of some of the main characters are up in the air. According to Da Vinci's Demons Season 3 spoiler shared by Riley during the New York Comic-Con last week, the new season will be hard for a lot of characters and 'no one is safe.' However, he didn't reveal who will say goodbye. Is it Laura Haddock's Lucrezia Donati? Blake Ritson's Girolamo Riario? Or Greg Chillin's Lorenzo de Medici.
Riley also said that there will be a 'big reveal' in the show's fourth episode. The Entertainment Weekly caught up with the casts while shooting their fourth episode. Tom Riley gladly obliged to share more Gotham TV series spoilers.
"It's going to be a very cool reveal at the top when you first see it ... Will Pascoe, who wrote it-who wrote [Hugo-nominated Orphan Black episode "Variations Under Domestication"] ... he was just determined to make this beautiful, self-contained story, and it really is-it's heartbreaking. And also what it allows us to do-and this is something else the writers were very keen on doing-is shedding some light on the Book of Leaves. That's what season 3 will do."
