The Voice Season 8: Christina Aguilera And Pharrell Williams Will Come Back With Series Regulars Adam Levine And Blake Shelton

| By

While Gwen Stefani has definitely held her own so far on Season 7 of the NBC reality hit, Christina Aguilera will be back for Season 8.

The pop diva has been away from the coaches' panel since Season 5 - taking time off to give birth to her second child - but as Carson Daly announced on "Today" this morning, she will be back in action for the show's spring 2015 season.

Joining the "Moves Like Jagger" songstress will be Pharrell Williams, who retains his seat from the current fall season, and red chair mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

While Aguilera's reunion with Adam and Blake will be sure to put butts in couch seats, it is music producer and artist Pharrell who is really changing things up for the series.

His coming back for a second season in a row puts an end to the show's routine of rotating two coaches every season.

It sounds like the network is more than excited for Christina to be back in the game after she was replaced by Shakira and then Gwen Stefani.

"We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can't wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell, in what will be an incredibly competitive competition," NBC Entertainment president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy says in a statement. "These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense and the stakes will be high."
