Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, and executive producer Danny Cannon were at the New York Comic-Con last weekend and there, they treated fans with some Gotham TV series spoiler and other exciting news. One part of the discussion that kept fans on their seats is about the possibility of the new Fox show joining films and TV shows that are also based on DC Comics. Crossover shows have been some of the trends right now on television. The most notable of which is the two-episode crossover between CW Network’s the Flash and Arrow.
Is it possible for Gotham to be seen in another project? Well, based on the answers by executive producer Danny Cannon, looks like it would be wrong to wait for Gotham TV Series spoiler that talks of Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, and others visiting or being visited other DC Comics characters.
“We were just happy we were able to create a relatable, timeless kind of world and keep our feet on the ground and keep it realistic. Any thought of any other show, that means I’d have to watch some other shows. I mean, I don’t have time for anything right now, so if we keep it real, [crossover]’s gonna be hard to do because we’re eighteen years before Batman, so it’s gonna be kind of hard to pull that off. We’re a period show, basically.”
One thing for sure though is the arrival of more familiar Batman characters. As earlier Gotham TV Series Spoiler revealed earlier, Tommy Elliot, a.k.a. Hush, and Harley Quinn, the Joker’s loyal assistant could be coming to the show. However, there’s no clear info yet on who will play these two new characters or if they will be there for a longer period. According to Cannon, seeing more villains visiting Gotham City will be the norm in the show because it isn’t about Batman but the individuals who rebels to get noticed.
“It’s the thing with Batman also, the reason he wears the mask is because it doesn’t matter who’s under the mask as long as somebody’s representing that. Batman isn’t a person, it’s an ideal, and it’s the same thing with villains. They’re revolution is against the city. The nemesis they’ll have later is different, but they’re rise is much more about them rising above the corruption of their city and trying to get noticed. When everybody’s crazy, when the lunatics are running the asylum, the greatest lunatic will win.”
