Promotion for the development began early last year for "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues". Release date and other news have also surfaced online, following the massive budget gathered online from Kickstarter.
Early last year, game developer Richard Garriot introduced gamers to the dream of his game "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues" with a release date initially set for October 2014.
According to the official site, "Players will adventure in an interactive world where their choices have consequences, ethical paradoxes give them pause, and they play a vital part in weaving their own story into the immersive world and lore surrounding them. Play options will include solo, friends only, or open multiplayer via the Selective Multiplayer system. Players can specialize in a wide range of combat and non-combat skills, provided by a robust, classless skill system, and full-featured crafting and housing mechanics."
News on the the Kickstarter project for the "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues" funding began last year and was reported to reach $1.9 million after 10 days of the campaign launch, all for the development of the game.
Developer Portalarium released a message to the "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues" game backers of more that 22,000 via the Kickstarter website saying, "A sincere thank you goes out to all our backers for pledging your support to 'Shroud of the Avatar' and helping us raise almost double our Kickstarter goal. This game would not be possible without your dedication and feedback--what a fantastic experience it's been to interact with all of you, learning what is most important and desired in our new world."
Upon the "Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues" release date, gamers will also experience a designer item that is usable in-game, created by Chris Roberts known for his work in the popular "Wing Commander" series.
