Robert Downey Jr. is set to play the character of Iron Man yet again and will be seen on the film Captain America 3.
After the 49-year-old actor confirmed that there were no plans to make an Iron Man 4 film, there is a buzz among media that the Sherlock Holmes actor is currently in talks with the makers of Captain America 3.
According to Downey Jr, "There's no plans for an Iron Man 4," he revealed to David Letterman on The Late Show last Tuesday, October 7. However, the actor dropped a bit of a tease about his current negotiations. He said, "They do have a plan and I think they're gonna announce it. You know, they're very secretive about it. But I'm gonna do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
The dymanic brother duo who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Joe and Anthony Russo, are going to be the directors of the new Captain America film.
Robert Downey Jr. is an American actor, filmmaker, and singer. He appeared in several movies when he was still young and in 1992 while playing Charlie Chaplin in the film Chaplin, Downey Jr. earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor.
Fast forward to 2008, Downey played the role of Marvel superhero Iron Man. He also reprised the role in Iron Man 2, Marvel's The Avengers, and Iron Man 3. Downey, as Iron man, also made a cameo appearance as the character in the film Incredible Hulk.
Downey will also play Iron man in the upcoming Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Downey Jr. has appeared in six films that have grossed over $500 million each at the box office worldwide. The Avengers and Iron Man 3, each earned over $1 billion.
