While writers say that Gotham is different from other Batman films or series, there’s no denying that familiar characters that had direct contact with the caped superhero is what makes the show standout. In another Gotham TV series spoiler shared by director and producer Danny Cannon and actor Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred Pennyworth, it was revealed that two more names from the Batman universe is set to grace the show.
This Gotham TV series spoiler was revealed by Inside TV of the Entertainment Weekly quoting an interview from IGN.
“Pertwee mentioned that there will be an Easter egg regarding Tommy Elliot, a.k.a the villain Hush.
In the comics, Elliot and Bruce Wayne’s histories are intertwined, as the two were friends when they were children. Since Bruce is still young on Gotham, perhaps Tommy Elliot will stop by Wayne Manor for a play date before he descends into his murderous ways,” the EW wrote.
Another character confirmed by Cannon is Leslie Thompkins who in the comics is a close friend and medical colleague of the father of Bruce Wayne. Thompkins also somehow served as a mother figure to the kid who became Batman.
“Cannon teased that “Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) gets to meet her through strange circumstances, when he is…” before cutting himself off for fear of spoiling her introduction. He went on to clarify that “at a very tough time in Jim’s life, he will meet Leslie Tompkins,” which hints that things won’t start improving for the detective anytime soon.”
The show hasn’t chosen actors for the two new characters so standby for more Gotham TV Series spoilers in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy the news that Gotham TV series has been ordered to produce 22 episodes. That is six episodes more compared to the first plan to have 16.
Aside from McKenzie, Gotham TV series also stars Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.
