Good news for fans of the show! "American Horror Story" has been picked up for a fifth season.

Following the success of its latest installment's premiere, FX has decided to renew "American Horror Story." Season 5 will reportedly have 13 episodes and will air in October 2015.

According to a report from Variety, the season premiere of "Freak Show" garnered the most viewership in the network's history. The fourth installment in the anthology series' debut reportedly had 10 million viewers - a large leap compared to the previous season's premiere which had 7.27 million.

FX head John Landgraf shared the decision via a statement, saying: "The 'American Horror Story' anthology has had the highest growth trajectory of any show in FX history, not to mention an unprecedented track record of success in awards recognition."

Landgraf added, "With Ryan Murphy and his partners, Brad Falchuck, Dante Di Loreto and Tim Minear at the helm, the show's success is not surprising. AHS continues to deliver amazing stories, a brilliant troupe of actors led by Jessica Lange, and a visual style unlike any other on TV ... We expect 'AHS: Freak Show' and the next incarnation of 'AHS' to further [Murphy's] legacy."

Meanwhile, Murphy broke the news of the show's return via Twitter, saying: "Thank you AHS fans. You are amazing. Looking forward to Season 5!"

In a previous interview, Murphy shared that he already know what the next installment would be about.

"Yes, I have figured it out," Murphy said about the storyline of "American Horror Story" season 5. "I'm already meeting with actors about asking them to play." When asked if he can say anything about it, the director answered "No! But there are clues in the first two episodes because I figured out season 5 very early on and I know that the fans love that. So there are clues that are dropped.
