‘Destiny’ PC Version Release Date Coming Out On 2015: Believed To Have One Of The Biggest Budgets For A Game Out There!

Bungie's "mythic science fiction" game Destiny released on Sony's PS3 and PS4, on Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Sept. 9, 2014 but still provided no hints for PC version.

According to gamers who have already obtained "Destiny", the game boasts a striking storyline and extraordinary graphics. Gamers can take on the role of an elite warrior that guards and protects the last remaining place on Earth from alien invaders.

Regarding PC version, executives from Bungie and Activision talked about the issue in separate interviews, and however all of them did mention that a PC version might be possible. They also said that developing the game for another platform is not as easy as one may think.

Design lead Lars Bakken spoke to Eurogamer about the lack of PC version:

"I wish it was that simple. It's pretty complicated. That doesn't mean that it can't happen in the future, it just means it won't happen right now," he explained.

Destiny is Bungie's first new multiplatform game in over a decade, and the studio decided to handle improvements of all the game versions internally, rather than having it subcontracted to other studios. With this, the company can assure quality by itself; is also one of the main reasons why the PC game could be delayed.

"This is a huge and ambitious project for us, and just getting it on one console would be a momentous challenge. Getting it on four on the same day is something we've never even tried before. We wanted to get it right, and we didn't want to add in tons more risk," Bungie COO Pete Carsons said.

"We love the PC. We hear it too. We ask the question of ourselves," he added.

"We're doing it all internally ourselves. That's a huge endeavor," said Bakken. "So when I'm playtesting and I'm trying to play PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, that's a lot of work. Adding another thing on there is just crazy. It's crazy to think of right now."

Bungie senior writer Eric Osborne talked to Polygon saying that they have not announced a fixed date for Destiny PC.

"The more platforms we take on, the more work it ultimately becomes, and what we don't want is to compromise the core appetite on any platforms," Osborne explained.

"Developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality," the publishing house CEO added.

"We have a lot of people who play on PC's. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience. We haven't announced it yet, but we're looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future."

Though, "Destiny" has been rumored to have had a $500 million budget. Needless to say, it is believed to have one of the biggest budgets for a game out there which perhaps the reason why both publisher and developer are making sure that everything works out for their current products as of the moment.
