George Clooney could possibly start a family immediately after his recent wedding. An insider has revealed to Hollywood Life that the actor and his wife Amal Alamuddin are "ready" for a baby.

The source told the news site that the former eligible bachelor "would be a doting dad."

"He's talked about wanting kids of his own, what he'd be like as a dad and what he's looking forward to the most... telling bedtime stories. He's a wonderful storyteller," the insider said.

"He's also the big kid prankster and lovingly referred to as 'the Tickle Monster' by many of his pint-sized admirers," the source told Hollywood Life.

The insider claimed that the "Oceans 11" star is "just a natural" when it comes to children.

"All of his friends know what a wonderful dad he'll make and agree that he has met his match in Amal who will no doubt make a brilliant mom," the source said.

The insider detailed to Hollywood Life: "It's an understatement to say that George is ready for family life. Ask him what role he wants to play? He'll say 'Dad' without hesitation!"

George Clooney's recent wedding to Amal Alamuddin in Italy was attended by top stars, such as Vogue's Anna Wintour, supermodel Cindy Crawford, and "Ocean's 11" co-star Matt Damon.

According to a report from CNN, the groom arrived by motorboat at the Aman Canal Grande Venice resort. The venue is housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli.

Locals cheered "George, auguri" as George Clooney waved to his guests and on-lookers.

The actor announced the wedding venue just weeks before the event while at a celebrity charity function in Tuscany, Italy. According to People magazine, George Clooney was at the event to accept a humanitarian award and shared during his acceptance speech: "I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places."
