Australian Hip-hop artist Iggy Azalea leads the pack with six nominations at the annual fan-voted American Music Awards show on November 23, announced on Monday.
Iggy's "Fancy" co-artist Charli XCX was announced as the event's first performer
John Legend, Super Bowl 2014 performer Katy Perry and The Voice coach Pharrell Williams followed with five nominations each.
"Royals" hit singer Lorde received four nominations while Beyonce, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, One Republic, and Once Direction each got three nominations.
Bastille, Drake, Luke Bryan, and Sam Smith are some of the artists that have multiple nominations.
In a category tweak, the American Music Awards' top award, Artist of the Year, has expanded from five to 10 nominees.
The 10 nominees will be narrowed down to five based on votes received through November 13, with the winner determined via the total number of votes received during the full voting period.
Artists eligible for the top prize include Azalea, Beyonce, Bryan, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Legend, Lorde, One Direction, Perry and Williams.
The Single of the Year category has also expanded from three to five nominees, with Azalea and CharliXCX's "Fancy," Legend's "All of Me," Magic!'s "Rude," Perry and Juicy J's "Dark Horse" and Williams' Oscar-nominated "Happy" facing off.
The soundtracks from Disney's "Frozen," "The Fault in Our Stars," and "Guardians of the Galaxy" are competing in the Top Soundtrack Category.
The American Music Awards will be broadcast live from L.A. Live's Nokia Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 23 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
Voting begins Monday in all categories except New Artist of the Year on AMAvote.com and via Twitter by tweeting the nominee's name, category and #AMAs hashtag.
Voting for the New Artist of the Year opens Nov. 1 and closes in the first hour of the Nov. 23 live telecast.
