Menchie's opened its latest Georgia location at The Avenue West Cobb in Marietta.
To celebrate the grand opening, the store will have a seven-day celebration from Saturday, October 11 to Friday, October 17. In the event, the store will be giving away Menchie's merchandise, including free shirts. There will also be family-friendly activities. The highlight of the event is the free servings of Menchie's signature frozen yogurt.
The seven-day event includes free face painting, half-priced discounts during lunch, free plushies and shirt, and buy one, take one deals.
Franchisee Monica Long said, "I have been involved in the restaurant and hospitality industries on the franchisor side in the past and really wanted a change from corporate life in addition to the opportunity to own my own business."
Long first entered a Menchie's store with her daughter, and she knew right then that it's the franchise for her. She said she's excited to share the fun-loving brand with the Marietta community.
The store will have arts and crafts for kids and there will also be an outdoor space for the family and kids. A rotating yogurt counter featuring a variety of flavors will also be available.
Menchie's is known for being a brand big on giving back to the community. Franchise stores often partner with school for fund raising events and to give education incentives programs. Each store also commonly donate thousands of dollars to support student programs in local school where the franchise belongs.
The frozen yogurt used in Menchie's stores received the Live and Active culture seal from the National Yogurt Association. It means that the yogurt has live and active cultures. It's made from the highest quality of milk from California cows, which aren't treated with artificial growth hormones.
Menchie already has 400 stores in the United States, Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico, Australia, Guam, Israel, and China. They expect to open its 500th store in 2014.
