R&B singer August Alsina has cancelled his slated show on October 11 at the Brooklyn Bowl in London due to medical reasons, according to Billboard.
The decision to cancel August Alsina's show in London -- as part of comedian Kevin Hart's HartBeat Weekend -- stemmed from the singer's ongoing recovery from a fall during a performance in September.
The singer went into a three-day coma after his fall and have since been recuperating. Alsina took to Twitter to break the news to his fans, saying: "Apologies to my London/UK fans, @KevinHart4real and #HartBeatWeekend. Docs advised me not to fly, so my performance tomorrow is cancelled."
Apart from the "No Love" singer's tweet, an official statement was released by one of his representatives.
The statement read: "Due to the well-publicized fall from a stage in New York last month which caused August to be hospitalized for more than a week, his medical team has advised him that it would be unwise to travel such distance so soon into his recovery. August has asked us to convey his disappointment and sadness that he will be unable to perform. We all wish him the very best of luck and a speedy recovery."
Comedian Kevin Hart also informed fans that the Saturday part of his showcase will be cancelled due to Alsina's absence. In a statement, Hart said, "To all HartBeat and August Alsina fans, we are saddened by this unexpected news, but we must also take responsibility and adhere to what August's medical team advise, no matter how disappointing this news is. This means that the Saturday night show will NOT be happening."
August Alsina also had slated shows in Dubai and Abu Dhabi but the singer postponed them. He is also slated to perform as the opening act for Usher's "U R Experience" tour which will start on November 1, but no news if he will be cleared for the show has come out.
