Following the success of its prequel, "The LEGO Movie 2" is prospectively set in May 2017.

"The LEGO Movie" is considered as one of the most successful films of 2014. It grossed over $460 million internationally.

And with such success commercially, reports say its producer Warner Bros. will do a movie spin-off, which has a ninja theme.

Warner Bros., according to Film School WTF, is looking forward to "The LEGO Movie 2" and has slated it for May 26, 2017.

In case you missed it, "The LEGO Movie" goes like this according to Lego.com:

"An ordinary guy named Emmet (Chris Pratt) is mistaken as being the Master Builder, the one who can save the universe. With the aid of an old mystic Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), a tough young lady named Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and Batman (Will Arnett), Emmet will fight to defeat the evil tyrant Lord Business (Will Ferrell) who is bent on destroying the universe by gluing it together."

Good reviews on "The Lego Movie" proved its commercial success.

According to Drew Taylor of The Playlist, "'The Lego Movie' is an absolute blast-a whip-smart, surprisingly emotional family film where the toy property is seen less as a concrete template than a tool for seemingly limitless potential."

Reports suggest that Chris McKay will be directing the "The LEGO Movie 2". He was also part of the prequel as animation supervisor, editor, and co-director. Meanwhile, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be producing "The Lego Movie 2".

Warner Bros. are said to be hiring Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan for the screenplay of "The Lego Movie 2".

Surfacing reports say that Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Channing Tatum, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, and Alison Brie are possibly not in the "The Lego Movie 2" since Warner Bros. are interested in making a fresh sequel and theme.

Do you think "The LEGO Movie 2" will surpass the success of its prequel? Let us know in the comments!
