After iCloud's security breach dubbed as 'The Fappening' that revealed some of Hollywood celebrities' nude photos, another security breach took place in messaging service Snapchat.
Recently, a post from an anynomous user in 4chan poated that Snapchat leaked photos will be posted on October 12. It claims that it hacked image-saving service of Snapchat the Snapsave that allows users of to store pictures they received before it disappears.
Message board on 4chan suggests that at least 200,000 snapchat leaked photos will be posted and 'will be uploaded to a searchable database, which suggests the images will be linked to Snapchat user IDs' quoted from DailyMail
The anonymous user also posted nude photos, but according to reports many had doubted it as those nude photos can be seen in other websites.
The thread messages of Snapchat leaked photos was first spotted by blogger Kenny Withers. He also described it as 'one of the largest data breaches of online profiles.', according to DailyMail.
'To put this into perspective, just imagine the celebrity nude scandal,' he also wrote quoted from the same website.
'Now replace iCloud with Snapsave and blow this up by hundreds of thousands of accounts. Now you have the Snappening.'
The DailyMail also reported that Snapchat denied any security breach on their system, and blamed third part apps.
In an interview with MailOnline, Snapchat representative said 'We can confirm that Snapchat's servers were never breached and were not the source of these leaks,'
'Snapchatters were victimised by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use precisely because they compromise our users' security. We vigilantly monitor the App Store and Google Play for illegal third-party apps and have succeeded in getting many of these removed.'", Snapchat added.
