28-year-old former Nickelodeon actress Amanda Bynes has been hospitalized and put under psychiatric hold.
People reported that the former actress flew from New York to Los Angeles last Friday. Shortly after her arrival, she was then admitted to a Pasadena hospital.
According to TMZ, doctors placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold where Bynes will be held for 72 hours or 3 days.
This is following the event of Bynes acting out via Twitter last Friday and accused her father of sexual abuse. Bynes then recanted her statement.
According to a tweet by Bynes this afternoon, "My dad never did any of those things. The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."
Bynes' mother, Lynn Bynes, released a statement to E! News through Tamar Arminak, her lawyer. She denied her daughter's claims saying, "I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years," she contimued, "Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way."
Bynes' siblings, Tommy Bynes and Jillian O'Keefe also released a statement through the same lawyer. TMZ reports, "We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment. ... We are pained by (Amanda's) behavior but we absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents."
Amanda has been in the media lookout for quite a while for her erratic behavior and her recent DUI arrest last September.
