Eight months after Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's separation, Patton finally filed for divorce from estranged husband.
In a report by E! News, it said the actress has filed for divorce from 37-year-old Thicke in a Los Angeles court over "irreconcilable differences".
It also said Patton asks the court for joint custody of their 4-year-old son Julian.
Last February, the couple gave a joint statement about their separation. "We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."
In July, the "Blurred Lines" singer explained on New York's Hot 97 radio station that their separation was not caused by infidelity.
"[Cheating] is not why we're apart. We're apart because we just couldn't be together anymore for a while. There's a hundred different reasons, there isn't just one. There's a long list... I changed, and I got a little too selfish, a little too greedy and little too full of myself," the "Give It 2 U" singer said.
Thicke reportedly tried to win back her wife of nine years. One of his actions was to name his album "Paula", but he admitted his estranged wife has not heard the whole album at that time.
In the same interview with the radio station, he said: "She's only heard a few songs. I don't think she wants to hear it right now. I can't speak for her, but I think space is an important part of any healing process."
Last year in an interview with Prestige magazine, Robin Thicke and Paula Patton gushed about how each of them affects the other.
"I don't know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn't for Paula. She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration, and I love her," Thicke said.
"I've been there for his down moments and he's been there for mine. Life is full of peaks and valleys," said 38-year-old Patton in the same interview.
