Keaton surpass is stepping back into the role of a superhero with Alejandro González Iñárritu's Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance!
"[Birdman is] a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Keaton) - famous for portraying an iconic superhero - as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself", said by Iñárritu.
The story goes as washed-up actor Riggan Thomson, who became famous for playing an iconic superhero in the movies, decides to step a comeback in a Broadway play. Pressures mount leading up to the play's opening night as Riggan battles his ego and tries to win back his family, at the same time re-establishing his career and finding himself in the process.
Edward Norton, is also appearing in the film who was cast as an "egotistical lead stage actor" according to Deadline, who disrupts Keaton's attempts to create the Broadway play that will rejuvenate his career.
Norton and Keaton are not the only superhero movie experts on the cast list. Emma Stone, a talented comedy actress who is famously known as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, will play Keaton's daughter - an actress who has just gotten out of rehab and who is hired as an assistant by her father. Stone has never been related to any of the drink or drugs scandals, so it is possible that her character might likewise be as starlets like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Along with them also are Zach Galifianakis as Brandon, Andrea Riseborough as Laura, Amy Ryan as Sylvia and Naomi Watts as Lesley.
Produced by Regency Enterprises and Worldview Entertainment, and distributed by Fox Searchlight Pictures, the film is set to be hitting the cinemas on October 17, 2014.
