The Flash CW Series Spoiler: Another Villain Set To Terrorize And The Starling City, Find Out Who He Is

| By

In just one day, fans received two The Flash CW Series spoilers, how about that? After announcing that Alias alum Victor Garber has been chosen to play Dr. Martin Stein to complete the Firestorm duo alongside Robbie Amell, the CW Network has introduced another character, a villain that is, that will try to slow down the Flash (Grant Gustin). This villain that will arrive will also be momentous especially for the LGBT group. The new the Flash CW series character is Pied Piper and will be played by Andy Mientus of musical drama series Smash.

Casting of Mientus was first reported by TV Line:

"Here's a piece of casting news that's sure to make some noise: Smash vet Andy Mientus is joining The Flash as hearing impaired (and openly gay) DC Comics villain Pied Piper (AKA Hartley Rathaway), TVLine has learned exclusively.

One of DC's original Rogues, Hartley is a bona fide genius who used to work at S.T.A.R. Labs until a falling out with his mentor, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh). The particle accelerator robbed Hartley of his hearing, but inspired him to create a series of sonic weapons that he uses in an effort to punish Wells by destroying his new protege: The Flash.

Pied Piper is one of the few openly gay villains in the DC Universe, and I'm told The Flash will not be shying away from that aspect of the character."

The arrival of this new villain is an open secret as TV Line has already released The Flash CW Series spoiler concerning Pied Piper last month.

Matt Webb Mitovich wrote:

"In addition to the likes of Captains Cold and Boomerang, at midseason we will also meet Hartley, a onetime mentee of Dr. Wells' who lost his hearing in an accident and now is out to wreak havoc with an invention of his own. (Of course, you may know Hartley - who happens to be gay - as the Pied Piper.)"
