Sarah Goldberg, known for her role as the medical student Sarah Glass Camden on "7th Heaven," died in her sleep on Sept 27 at age 40. She passed away during a trip to her family's cabin in Wisconsin.
This was confirmed by her family to Chicago Sun-Times. " She went to sleep and didn't wake up," told Her mother Judy Goldberg to the newspaper. According to them, the autopsy was not able to determine the cause of her death, but suspected of a heart condition.
Goldberg studied at Amherst College and took up Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1996. But a chance role at the 1997 Blockbuster "My Best friend's Wedding" caused her to re-think of her plans on becoming a doctor. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles and pursued an acting career. She went by the stage name of Sarah Danielle Madison, because of her fondness of the mermaid character "Madison" from the 1984 movie "Splash."
After her appearance in "Training Day," she became part of the 7th Heaven casts and played the character of a rabbi's daughter and actor Barry Watson's love interest, from 2002-2006. "She wanted to go to medical school, and instead, for three years, she played a doctor on 7th Heaven," Goldberg's mother recalled. She also mentioned how people would come up to her daughter whenever Sarah was in Wisconsin and say " you played the daughter of a rabbi!"
The actress also appeared on the film "Jurassic Park III" and made appearances on television series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Judging Amy," "Without A Trace," "House M.D.," and "90210."
Goldberg was depicted in her obituary as a person who loved the outdoor activities, enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and waterskiing. She was also an advocate of animal rescue. A proof of that were her two dogs, Daisy and Bucket, whom she rescued and lived with her in Los Angeles.
