The MH17 crash near Donetsk Oblast in Ukraine is one of two terrible air disasters that gripped the world this year. The other one is the MH370 which mysteriously appeared while traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Interestingly, both planes are operated by Malaysia Airlines. Between the two, investigations on the MH17 crash is gaining more progress. Few days after the crash, several militant groups reportedly took credit for the downing of the airplane. Vitaly Nayda, the chief of the Counter Intelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine said the act was committed with the help of Russian Federation. The gist is it was shot by a militant group.
However, in another shocking twist, looks like there's still more to the story that is being withheld by authorities. Dutch prosecutors revealed that one of the passengers inside the MH17 flight was found wearing an oxygen mask. The passenger is said to be an Australian. These findings were made by Dutch forensic experts.
Wim de Bruin, spokesman for the Dutch authorities, explaibed that they tested "fingerprints, saliva and DNA and that did not produce any results. So it is not known how or when that mask got around the neck of the victim."
This news on the MH17 crash was accidentally confirmed by Netherlands Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans by accident as he was imagining the horror felt by the passengers when it was going down. He was asked whether he has created an image that wasn't even there, he replied: "Oh yes? Can you be so sure about that?"
He followed:
"But do you know that someone was found with an oxygen mask on their mouth - and so they had the time to put it on?" Mr Timmermans said.
This latest development has raised questions. If that passenger wore it before the crash, did he/she know what was about to happen?
One lawyer for one of victims' families said they were shocked by the revelations of Timmermans.
"People are shocked when they hear this and wonder what other information there is but isn't shared," lawyer Veeru Mewa told Dutch television as reported by NBC.
