The initial American Horror Story Freakshow Review is in.
According to People:
"The first few episodes are, in fact, relatively restrained, especially compared to the revolting gore that launched last year's Coven. The sideshow theme, which inevitably harkens back to Freaks, the notorious 1931 horror movie, doesn't have the same meaning for a modern audience. What was once treated with revulsion and perhaps condemned as the sins of the fathers visited upon their children is now understood in terms of genetics and medicine and is protected and accommodated by law. "
As previously reported, It Seems that the American Horror Story Freakshow review will be featuring scary clowns and Glee actress, Lea Michele.
According to the International Business Times,
"Twisty the Clown will be seen wearing a mask that covers the lower side of his face, and what the mask hides is not for the weak-hearted to see. John Carroll Lynch has been roped in to portray Twisty the Clown. In an interview withBuzzfeed News, Ryan Murphy, co-creator of 'American Horror Story,' said: 'We said in the writer's room that if we were going to do clowns, we were going to create the most terrifying clown of all time.'"
As previoously reported, Lea Michele is rumored to be included in the cast for FX's top series, American Horror Story Freakshow.
The broadway singer's interest in joining the cast for the Horror TV series has definitely been made clear by herself, stating in an interview with Ellen Degeneres, that she would love to keep working with Ryan Murphy, creator of the American Horror Story series and executive producer of "Glee", in which Lea stars in.
"[I would star in a 'Glee' spinoff], unless he wants to put me in 'American Horror Story," Lea told Ellen. "I know what the theme is for next year, and I'm in. So, if he'll have me ... at least, maybe for one episode. Let's start that campaign."
Glee is set to conclude its streak of successful viewership from all over the world after having been aired for six seasons. Fox will premiere the final season on Spring in 2015. Given this timeline, Lea would have enough time to actually do taping for "American Horror Story: Freak Show", although it has also been confirmed that Lea will be filming for another series from FX called "Sons of Anarchy", where she will guest as "an empathetic truck stop waitress and single mother, who connects with Gemma during a difficult time." Her character will be named "Gertie".
Fans remain hopeful that the rumors of Michele getting casted for the fourth season of the horror series will indeed come true, as it is not unusual for the creator, Ryan Murphy to cast actors and actresses whom he has worked with in the past. They [fans] are also anticipating as to how Lea will fit in the mood and tone of the series which is reported to take place in Jupiter, Florida circa 1952.
As the synopsis states, the fourth season of American Horror Story will feature a "troupe of curiosities" that are rattled by antagonistic characters such as a "clown killer" and a "bearded lady." This season will also feature other actors such as the real-life record holder for being the smallest woman in the world, Jyoti Amge. Amge's character has yet to be announced.
"American Horror Story Freak Show" is set to air Oct. 10 p.m. on FX.
