Are you ready for Lorde's 'The Hunger Games' soundtrack?
The New Zealand native had been named as curator for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' OST a couple of months ago and the announcement piqued interests of both Tributes and fans of the singer-composer!
What people want to know, however, was who Lorde chose to sing for the album.
According to Page Six, the 17-year-old reportedly handpicked several musicians to work with her on the record.
The website's sources say that Lorde recruited Grace Jones, Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, Diplo and Charli XCX (best known for the 'Fault In Our Stars' OST 'Boom Clap') for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' soundtrack album.
Republic Records will be releasing the album in November, coinciding with the movie's theater showing.
Lorde's 'The Hunger Games' soundtrack already released a teaser - a song made and sang by the Grammy award winner herself. She put out 'Yellow Flicker Beat' last September 29 through her official Vevo.
Regarding Lorde's appointment as the main curator for the soundtrack record, Director Francis Lawrence previously mentioned how amazed he was at the young songwriter's understanding of Katniss, Peeta and Gale's characters.
"Her immense talent and keen understanding of Mockingjay's characters and themes not only had enabled her to create a song of her own that completely captures the film's essence," the director said. "But her insight and passion for our project make her the perfect creative force to assemble the other songs on our soundtrack."
She also went on Tumblr to share her experiences in creating music for the album.
"I work from midnight until late on the soundtrack, singing into my computer, listening to demos and final mixes. My bus sleeps," she posted. "We are almost at the end, the point where this soundtrack gets taken away from me and becomes something real."
Putting together this OST, she is reminded of her first album, 'Pure Heroine,' which was released last year.
She added, "The feeling of something very solitary that I had worked on spinning around and around further away from me, becoming someone else's, everyone's."
