Luke Evans Injured: ‘Dracula Untold’ Star Shares The Cons Of Being Vlad The Impaler! What Happened To Him On Set?

| By

'Dracula Untold' star Luke Evans injured himself while shooting for the film, the actor revealed during an interview with Good Morning Britain.

As the legendary Count Dracula, Evans had to wear fake fangs in most of the shots. His role didn't just call for him to bite other people. He revealed that his fake teeth also punctured his own lips a couple of times while filming.

Although they weren't serious, the injuries he got from the fake but sharp fangs still made the experience quite "horrible."

''The ones in the film are much, much bigger [than my own]," he explained regarding the sharp props. "I had two different sets, the really long ones, that they would have for just biting moments, and then the ones I could talk and do action with but [they] still pierced my lip quite a few times, horrible!"

Being the professional that he is, however, Luke Evans, injured or not, still went on shooting gritty fight scenes with the fangs in place. That doesn't mean he can't complain about it afterwards, though.

''I'm fighting with [the fangs] and sword fighting and I just kept piercing my lip all the time - it wasn't very good," he further shared.

'Dracula Untold,' which also stars Dominic Cooper as the villain, revolves around the origin of the scariest fictional character in history. It tells the story of how Vlad III Țepeș or Vlad the Impaler became Count Dracula - an origin story of sorts. Based on the trailer, the film aims to explain the main reasons that drove Vlad into embracing darkness.

It also looks like Luke Evans being injured by his fangs will have to happen more often in the future. The actor previously revealed that Legendary is already thinking about a possible sequel that could happen for the 3D movie.

"He's immortal, so it could go anywhere," Evans said about the possibility of a second film. "There's a lot of discussions about that so it's very exciting and I'm very much involved in the whole thing."

'Dracula Untold' will be hitting US cinemas on October 10.
