Last Tuesday, TMZ had released a tape recording where Stephen Collins is allegedly heard making a confession. The 67-year-old actor confessed to his estranged wife Faye Grant that he had molested three young kids between the ages of 10 and 13 years old.
In response to the horrible news, Stephen Collins' show 7th Heaven reruns has been dropped from their broadcasting schedules.
In a statement released to E! Online, UP TV President Charley Humbard said, "As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins. 7th Heaven has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today."
According to TMZ, TV Guide channel has stopped airing 7th Heaven.
Stephen Collins is an American actor, writer, director, and musician. He rose to prominence when he played the role of Reverend Eric Camden on the television series 7th Heaven which started 1996 and ended 2007. His wife in the series was played by actress Catherine Hicks.
According to an interview obtained by British newspaper The Daily Mail, Hicks said, "I have no idea, I swear. I have really nothing to say nothing to hide. I don't know anything. Stephen's a good guy in my opinion."
In the legal documents allegedly obtained by TMZ, Collins' former spouse had aid in a statement, "[Stephen] admitted that he had sexually molested 3 underage girls over a decade ago: At least two of these girls were molested over the course of several years," Grant was quoted as writing the statement.
"[I am] sickened by Stephen's actions. I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children."
A formal investigation was launched by the New York City Police Department on the said accusations.
