Earlier Hannibal Season 3 spoilers don’t reveal anything whether Mason Verger, who was convincingly portrayed by Michael Pitt (known for Boardwalk Empire). It would be a shame not to see the creepy rich kid again in the third season given the reception that it got despite appearing only in three episodes. Verger stood out during a scene where he was caught by Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) feeding his own face to his dog. Pitt was even nominated at the EWwy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of the sadistic character.
Fannibals have no other choice but wait for confirmation of Verger’s re-casting. However, with this new Hannibal Season 3 spoiler, it would be hard not to think that Michael Pitt’s character is indeed coming back. According to TV Line’s Michael Ausiello, the production team is now working to find an actor for Mason Verger’s personal doctor, Cordell, for a recurring role.
Ausiello wrote when asked about more Hannibal Season 3 spoiler:
“You didn’t say “pretty please” or add sugar on top, but I’ll nevertheless indulge your request by letting you know that we probably haven’t seen the last of the grossly disfigured Mason Verger. Producers are currently casting the recurring role of Cordell, the “quiet, very intelligent and definitely creepy” personal doctor to Michael Pitt’s sociopathic meat-packing magnate. The late-thirty something character is described as “attentive and gentle with Mason, a professional who cares about his work, but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as his boss — and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman.” (He’ll probably need to be comfortable working with horrifying, carnivorous pigs, too.)”
It’s hard to anticipate what episode Dr. Cordell will appear as another Hannibal Season 3 spoiler revealed that the first few episodes will feature the fabulous life of Lecter and Dr. Bedelia (Gillan Anderson) in Europe. There, they will pose as a couple while Hannibal is hunting a new victim.
