Gwyneth Platrow's Goop, a lifestyle brand and e-commerce website, has a new CEO.
The actress hired former Martha Stewart Living exec Lisa Gersh to oversee her brand.
In a statement, Paltrow explained why she chose Gersh for the job, saying: "Lisa is a visionary leader with unparalleled creativity and savvy. She's the perfect person to build on the momentum we have already created at goop and to diversify our opportunities to bring goop's positive energy directly to consumers in what they read, what they try and what they buy and how they live."
Gersh also spoke about her plans for the company, saying: "Builiding on goop's unique success, we'll continue to invest in the company, expand globally and launch next product lines and partnerships. The future of commerce is all tied to best in class, trusted, distinctive curated content."
Along with the coming of a new head for her lifestyle empire is a plan for a Goop clothing label, according to Racked.
There will reportedly be more pop-up shops for the brands as well as collaborations with more designers.
According to a report from Reuters, the clothing line will start with basic goods and will later expand to products for the home and beauty.
The brand has previously been successful in churning out apparel made in partnership with topnotch designers including Stella McCartney, Diane von Furstenberg, Matthew Williamson and Cynthia Rowley.
Meanwhile, a report from the New York Post suggested that Paltrow's move to hire Gersh will only fuel her feud with Marth Stewart.
According to reports, Stewart was heard telling Net-A-Porter's Porter magazine about what she think's of Paltrow's venture into the lifestyle business. "She needs to be quiet," Stewart allegedly said. "She's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."
Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop was started in London six years ago but now has its headquarters in New York.
