After the successful showing of X-Men: Days of the Future Past, another X-Men sequel were yet to be release!
The Fox entertainment publicized that the sequel was entitled, X-Men: Apocalypse, which, made possible by veteran director of X-Men: Days of the Future Past, Bryan Singer along with producer Simon Kinberg.
Singer revealed that the franchise will be reuniting original X-Men with the younger X-Men: First Class team. So, we should be expecting to see a lot of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), who will be playing older roles in the movie.
Reports have said that aside from having the first class; Storm, Wolverine, Jean Grey and Cyclops, which will be played by younger personalities, back on screen, other X-Men characters were also mentioned. Gambit, card-throwing Cajun cast by Channing Tatum, the fan-favorite Nightcrawler, Anna Paquin's Rouge appearance and the new crowd-pleasing Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson's) were some of the few names.
While Apocalypse; the main antagonist was expected to play a huge part in bringing up the excitement in X-Men: Apocalypse sequel.
Apocalypse was first seen at the end of X-Men: Days of the Future Past where he is using his powers to manipulate the Great Pyramid in ancient Egypt. The scene was included to suggest that this mutant has been there for a very long time and that he was viewed as a god.
According to Marvel Comics Database, Apocalypse is named as En Sabah Nur, meaning "The First One," suggesting that it might be the first mutant in existence. He has grey skin and blue traces around his features, and had powerful gifts from the time of his birth. Apocalypse's several abilities include flight, invulnerability, superhuman strength, teleportation, telekinesis and invincibility. He also created his Four Horsemen - Pestilence, Famine, War and Death. Assuming that the evil mutant's plan to conquer and enslave unworthy mutants will be part of the villain's on-screen motivations.
Talking about rumors, Halle Berrry and James Marsden will stay and somehow play younger, '80s versions of Storm or Cyclops. On the other hand, after seven times on a claw, Hugh Jackman will continue to perform as Wolverine.
After so many twists and turns, producer Kinberg hinted that Mystique (Lawrence) and Beast's (Hoult) lovestory will be one of the attractions in the movie.
X-Men: Apocalypse is to be in theaters on May 27, 2016.
