| By

With a couple of movies annually, "Gone Girl" actor Ben Affleck brings back the shine in his star with his latest movie. What are the reviews and critics' comment about the new film?

With a long-running list of movies under his belt, Ben Affleck is far from being a crowd favorite. While beginning his career in PBS as a child actor during the early 1980s, he continued to work with numerous award winning directors and co-actors.

Among his notable collaborations include "Good Will Hunting" with close friend Matt Damon in 1997, "Armageddon" with Bruce Willis in 1998, "Shakespeare in Love" in 1998 and "Peal Harbor" in 2001. He received an Academy Award and Golden Globe for his partnership with Damon in 1997.

Prior to Ben Affleck's "Gone Girl" fame, the actor has been in numerous films with only a handful gaining positive reviews. His career downturn began as he portrayed Matt Murdock in the 2003 film "Daredevil".

Recently, Ben Affleck news has surfaced online, following the release of "Gone Girl". The film is an adaptation of a 2012 novel by Gillian Flynn. Premiering in the 52nd New York Film Festival late September, "Gone Girl" has proven not to be "one of those" Ben Affleck films.

The official synopsis of the Ben Affleck-led "Gone Girl" "unearths the secret at the heard of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick's portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?"

To date, Ben Affleck's "Gone Girl" directed by David Fincher is running on a $35 million weekend sales, with a 66% in advanced sales. Critics has also been raving with positive feedbacks for the film saying, "Dark, intelligent, and stylish to a fault, 'Gone Girl' plays to director David Fincher's strengths while bringing the best out of stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike."
