Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Not Spared From Critics: Gapgate Issue Pointed Out By Unbox Therapy

| By

The hype about Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 continues even before it officially launches latter part of October. It is dubbed by the company as the "next big thing," as it promises of better graphics, a brighter screen, and a high-resolution camera that captures crisp, stunning images. It is also one of Samsung's first devices made with a metal frame. This is to keep up with the competition as most of its fellow tech giants had begun incorporating metal into their designs for added sturdiness.

However, if Apple's iPhone 6 Plus has its bendgate issues, this new product of Samsung has a gapgate problem. Early reviews point out a flaw in the phone's design wherein some handsets seem to have an abnormally large gap where the front bezel meets the side of the device. Reports say that the phone has a wide gap in its side metallic rim, large enough to slip a piece of paper.

Unbox Therapy, the same group who released the iPhone 6 bendgate issue, has also made a video uncovering the gaping problem of the Galaxy Note 4. It even mentioned that the gap on the Galaxy Note 4 is more pronounced than the same gap problems found in the Nexus 5 and LG's G3. Users expressed their concern saying that the gap could make the device susceptible to damage from outside elements such as water and grit.

Samsung has already issued a statement addressing the concern, reassuring users that the gap isn't a problem at all. " The reported issue does not impact the functionality or quality of the Galaxy Note 4," the firm said. " We assure our customers that all Galaxy Note 4 units meet our strict manufacturing and quality control standards."

Galaxy Note 4 was unveiled in Korea and China last Friday, and is expected to launch in UK on October 10, and the US by October 23. It will retail for around $825 without contract.
