"The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" is the third and final installment in this movie series. Breathecast reported that there is a new poster in the film's official Facebook page. The last poster portrays Smaug the dragon and the human settlement of Lake Town. The ominous caption placed on the poster says, "I am Fire. I am DEATH." Now, the new character poster has Bilbo Baggins in it with a sword and the caption says, "The Defining Chapter."
In the final scenes of the second installment, Smaug was seen flying straight to Lake Town. Viewers will finally see what Smaug has in store for the townspeople.
In a San Diego Comic Con event, Director Andrew Jackson said that the upcoming third Hobbit installment is a continuation of the story told in the first installment of the "Lord of the Rings."
The video preview of "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" can be viewed here. In the trailer we see Bilbo Baggins in the center of the action. The dwarves, elves and orcs are gathering their forces and preparing for war while the dragon Smaug is busy burning the houses in Lake Town.
"The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" official synopsis tells that the dwarves were successful in recovering the wealth of their Kingdom. Unfortunately, the cost was the destruction of the Lake Town by the dragon Smaug.
The Dwarve King Thorin Oakenshield obsessively searches for the lost Arkenstone, his family's heirloom. Thorin describes the gem as a, "Globe with a thousand facets; it shone like silver in the firelight, like water in the sun, like snow under the stars, like rain upon the Moon!"
Thorin cast aside everything including Bilbo in his search for the Arkenstone. Thorin is unaware however, that Sauron has launched all out war against the dwarves, elves, humans and other inhabitants of Middle Earth. The lives of the characters including Bilbo will be changed forever, that is if they survive the impending battles ahead.
"The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" is due for release this December 17.
