Adapted from the series "Hatufim", Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa developed "Homeland", fitting it to American audiences. Produced by Fox 21, the show premiered in 2011, and three years after "Homeland" season 4 begins early this month, raising the level of anticipation by a bang, literally.

"Homeland" season 3 ended with Damian Lewis' character, Nicholas Brody was executed in the public square of Tehran. Brody was a retired Staff Sergeant and was held captive for eight years by al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war. The finale of "Homeland" season 3, sparked rumors online how "Homeland" season 4 would progress without Brody. Recaps show that "Homeland" hasn't lost its touch, even without the award-winning actor.
In an interview with EW, Lewis shares his thoughts about the demise of his character saying, "I was not surprise because I knew from the outset taking this job that Brody's life expectancy was not as long as the other characters. I knew they had decided to kill Brody unequivocally at the [season 3] premier in DC."
