After the last episode in April 2014 with fans unsure whether there was going to be another chapter, television series "Community" returns with season 6! Release date and spoilers have also been revealed online.
Beginning in 2009 with the first season, Dan Harmon's "Community" was first seen on NBC. It served as the sitcom's home for five consecutive seasons until the newly renewed "Community" season 5 news. Release date has been set and other details have also been revealed during the Comic-Con.
"Community" tells the story of students in a Colorado community college, focusing on characters played by Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Allison Brie, Donald Glover, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong and Chevy Chase.
The series received high ratings based on Metacritic; with IGN giving 8.5 scoring: "'Community' eventually ramped up and delivered some amazing stories in the second half of the season." Although reception was at a high, NBC decided to dump "Community" season 6. Release date hoped by fans was then left as a mere dream.
Yahoo! Screen came to the rescue and bought 13 episodes for "Community" season 6, announcing the release date set for 2015 during the San Diego Comic-Con.
News follows "Community" season 6 release date announcement, with original cast Yvette Nicole Brown (who plays Shirley Bennett) not to return for the Yahoo! Screen show. TVGuide sheds light on Brown's departure in an interview, "My dad needs daily care and he needs me. The idea of being away 16 hours a day for five months, I couldn't do it. It was a difficult decision for me to make, but I had to choose my dad."
Executive producers Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are both supportive of Brown's decision, however fans are anticipating what will happen to loving single mother adored by the "Community".
"Community" season 6 release date has been set for 2015, on Yahoo! Screen.
