Xiaomi Redmi 1S Sales: During its 5th flash sale this week through its online retailer Flipkart, Xiaomi sold 60,000 of its Redmi 1S Smartphone in 13.9 seconds in India. The online sale started at 2pm just like it did last September 16. It is claimed that all available pieces have been purchased within 5.2 seconds of purchase last week alone.

The company took to twitter to thank their customers and has recently announced that it will hold its 6th flash sale on October 14. It has announced that it will release a combined 100,000 units of Mi3 and Redmi 1S smartphones in time for the Indian festive season of Diwali. Customers who are set to buy Redmi 1S, as well as its potential buyers, were told to register as early as possible, so as not to get frustrated with the Redmi's limited stocks. Registration has been made open 6PM of September 30.

Many consider the Redmi smartphone as a "value for money" considering its specifications at the price of $100. Knowing that cost-efficiency is embraced in India, it poses a challenge to the Android One smartphones and the Motorola E, which are priced at more than $100.

The device has a 4.7 inches IPS display, runs on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating platform, and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, having a 1GB RAM. It also incorporates an 8MP primary camera , as well as a 1.6MP secondary camera. The gadget also gives users an 8GB internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via an external mircroSd card. Xiaomi Redmi 1S is driven by a 2,000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi has proven that it can compete with other technology giants such as Samsung and Apple, having a much more affordable choice. Next in line project will be the launch of their Redmi Note 2 which targets the high-end sector. The company is already working on its new version even before the Redmi Note reaches other countries. The Redmi Note 2 is rumored to be packed with powerful hardware aspects that will continuously challenge its Samsung and Apple counterparts.
