The Nickelodeon produced show Pete and Pete have made kids afternoons a lot more fun. The beloved show, aired through the years 1993-1996, followed the story of Wrigley brothers Pete and Pete and their adventures in their hometown of Wellsville. Creators Wil McRobb and Chris Viscardi started the program in 1989 as minute long shorts. Progressed to half hour shorts that aired in between programs, later on ran regular half hour episodes that went on for three seasons and continued to get airtime in re-runs until around 1998. IGN called the show "One of the most well-written kids show ever."
The show also showcased music from such artists as Luscious Jackson, Racecar, Syd Straw and The Apples In Stereo. Most memorable is the song "Hey Sandy" which served as the show's theme song, performed by the band called Polaris.
A reunion took place in Los Angeles and New York City in 2011 and 2012 repspectively. Danny Tamberelli, Syd Straw and Marshall Crenshaw all performed their version of "Hey Sandy". Creators McRobb and Viscardi and the rest of the cast and crew were present.
