38-year-old actress Kate Winslet revealed that she felt that Leonardo and she actually "needed each other" when they were still in their twenties.
The pair first co-starred in the 1997 film Titanic. Since the first time they met, she felt that they have cultivated a strong bond. Though there were reports in the past that both had an affair or romantic relationship, Winslet claims that they never shared any romantic feelings.
According to Marie Claire UK, Winslet disclosed that, "I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing." She added, "It's so disappointing for people to hear that because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million songs, but actually we never did."
Winslet continued,"He always saw me as one of the boys; I've never really been a girly-girl. We needed each other to lean on because we were very young and working all kinds of crazy bloody hours and it was a shock to the system."

Leo and Kate kept their friendship tight throughout the years. Though Leo wanted to celebrate his birthday in grandeur, Kate doesn't want to have a joint event with him.
According to the Titanic lead actress, "He's 40 this year and I'm 40 next - that's weird. Isn't that weird? He wouldn't have a joint party with me, he really wouldn't. Definitely not. He likes to have his moments." She added, "But also I don't think I'd want to have a joint party with him, more to the bloody point!"
Leonardo DiCaprio, 39, is an American actor and fil producer. He was nominated and won several accolades throughout his career. After appearing in television commercials and several movies, Leonardo rose to prominence internationally when he played Jack Dawson in James Cameron's Titanic in 1997.
