‘Ghostbusters 3’ Release Date Expected Soon After Nine Years; Director Ivan Reitman To Bring Back Old Cast For New Film?

After a long wait, producing the third sequel of Ghostbusters 3 is now confirmed according to director and producer Ivan Reitman.

The supernatural comedy film "Ghostbusters", started 30 years ago as one of the most favorite films across the world is now believed to once again hit the theaters for its third full-length feature sequel, "Ghostbusters 3."

According to the reports, Columbia Pictures (Sony) is planning on starting production on Fall 2014 or Spring 2015 here in New York City. Issues, including Bill Murray's (Dr. Peter Venkman) refusal to participate and Ivan Reitman stepping down from the directional chair quelled the project.

"I thought it was better for me to just produce it and to make sure we're going to have the quality and style of what is appropriate for another version of that film. But the franchise could benefit from somebody else's point of view. I've done it twice before and it will be great to get somebody else to lend a hand as well", stated by Reitman.

While rumors has set "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig to wheel the upcoming film, with the city of Cleveland, where both The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier was filmed, as a considered shooting location for Ghostbusters 3.

The most recent script of the sequel that is based on the previous versions written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, was put together by Etan Cohen; script writer for Men in Black III, which grossed $624 million worldwide and earned decent reviews.

Aside from Bill Muray (Dr. Peter Venkman) being uninterested in coming back on the show and original Ghostbuster Harold Ramis's (Dr. Egon Spengler) absence, the shoot for the next chapter is already in the process, with rumors spreading that the film could be played by female "parapsychologists and ghost-catchers".

None of the cast has been confirmed yet, though it's been reported that both Dan Aykroyd (Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stantz) and Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore) will have small roles to play.
