Jennifer Love Hewitt Stars On 'Criminal Minds' - Not Expecting That The Offer Was Real Thought She Was Being 'Punk'd'

| By

Internet explodes when the top-rated American series "Criminal Minds" added Jennifer Love Hewitt into its roster as it debuted on its 10th season in October 1. Hewitt did not see the call coming and even thought she was being "punk'd" when she was asked if she wanted to be part of the highly anticipated series.

As a new mom to her 10 month old daughter, Autumn James Hallisay, she recalled how her life was changed and stated how unprepared she was to return to work so soon. She recalls. "I'm definitely sort of flying by the seat of my pants. You know, you're a mom and everything forms the moment they're in your arms is flying by the seat of your pants. So you get very good at it very quickly...(Autumn) is being really brave and I'm being brave and we're just sort of figuring it out.."

Hewitt plays the character of Kate Callahan, an eight-year veteran of the FBI. She works undercover chasing down the bad guys, specifically pedophiles. In an interview with Eonline, she mentioned that she loves being a badass in the series, which she is not in real life. Sometimes she even comes home with that feeling, which confuses her husband. The singer enjoys Callahan's sarcastic, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor.

Not everybody, however, loves the idea of her joining the show. As bashers turned to twitter to release their hate, some of them even think the writers should be fired. To her fans' defense, however, her being added to the show is a treat.

Criminal Minds premiered September 2005 on CBS. It is an American police-procedural television program which presents a team of profilers from the Behavioral analysis Unit (BAU) of FBI, based in Quantico, Virginia. What sets the show apart from its many counterparts is their focus on profiling the criminal ("unknown subject" or unsub as they term it), rather than the crime itself. It is now on its 10th season, showing Wednesday nights.
