William Fichtner sat down with DIY Mag for an interview and there, he dropped a lot of Crossing Lines season 2 spoilers, something that is scarce since the first season finale aired on August 18 of last year. The Prison Break alum said that when the show returns next year, it will be focused more on the past of his character, Carl Hickman, a retired First Grade former NYPD whose life spiraled down after getting injured on the job. He became addicted to morphine but was given a second chance after being recruited by the International Criminal Court's special unit wherein he will work with a number of crime fighters from different European countries. The series also stars Marc Lavoine and Donald Sutherland.
According to Fichtner, Carl Hickman's backstory will be among the highlights of the second season. In an earlier Crossing Lines season 2 spoiler, the American actor revealed to Den of Geek that his injured hand will play an important role in the progress of the series. However, he cannot confirm when will that be discuss. Now, in a separate interview, Fichtner revealed something he's sure of. He's backstory will be one of the top highlights once the show returns next year.
One particular aspect that will be tackled is his relationship with the character of Carrie-Anne Moss who according to earlier Crossing Lines Season 2 spoiler was a former partner of Hickman in the police department. Turned out, she's more than just a colleague.
"We find out more about him and the back story. Where he came from and to put the pieces back together of people who he was with and especially Carrie-Anne Moss' character that we find out not only was his former professional partner but they certainly had a personal connection," he said.
"Every day with Carrie-Anne on set was great. To be around her was great. I really feel like it's some of the best that Crossing Lines had been and that's no slap on my own back she's just that good."
