Amanda Bynes' arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) on Sunday did not come to the knowledge of her parents until the press called them.
The Nickelodeon star's father told X17 Online: "We know nothing about this, we were called by the press."
He added that they "have not seen her or heard from her since the end of conservatorship."
TMZ reported that the conservatorship, which gave Bynes' mother Lynn the control over her legal financial dealings since August 2013, ended in September this year.
Rick added that since then she can do what she wants, she's 28. "I don't know anything about the ticket. TMZ called me that's all I know," he said.
The actress' father claimed that they don't know the whereabouts of their daughter.
"Because we don't know anything we are fine, but I can guarantee you she will not come here. I thought she was in New York, the last time she was here was in June," Rick said.
According to E! News, the actress was arrested on Sunday at 3 a.m. for DUI.
After Amanda Bynes' arrest, she was charged with dismeanor after authorities "determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance" while driving, the report added.
TMZ has claimed that Bynes was under the influence of Adderall when arrested on Sunday. The report added the drug was prescribed to the actress and had taken the substance before she was stopped by authorities and failed different field sobriety tests.
After the arrest, according to E! News, she was released for bailing $15,000 at 12:44 p.m. on the same day.
A California Highway Patrol source told Access Hollywood that "the suspicion is drugs. It'll be a couple of weeks before test results are in."
According to Reuters, Bynes is currently on three years' probation when she did not contest in February a charge of misdemeanor that stemmed when in 2012 her vehicle swiped a patrol car in West Hollywood.
So now Amanda Bynes' arrest may constitute as a violation for that probation.
