"Mud" actor Jacob Lofland has been cast in Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, the sequel to Fox's recent YA hit.
After the success in the box office of "The Maze Runner," Fox dated shortly after the sequel for the YA Sci-Fi Dystopian movie and has the "Scorch Trials" in casting and production.
"The Maze Runner" has brought in $32.5 million on domestic debut and $152.2 worldwide to date and is continuing to earn more.
The sequel "Scorch Trials", titled same as the novels, which is where the movie franchise is based, will still be directed by Wes Ball and will have the same producers.
Temple Hill Entertainment and the Gotham Group will produce the anticipated sequel.
Earlier this week, Fox announced two actors that will be in the sequel.
"Game Of Thrones'" Littlefinger star Aidan Gillen was cast as Rat Man, a villain in the "Trials."
Roza Salazar has also joined the cast for a key female role.
Lead stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodilario, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster will reprise their roles in the movie.
After the success of Maze Runner ($32.5 million domestic debut and $152.2 worldwide to date), Fox immediately dated the sequel and has Scorch Trials in preproduction.
Lofland will play Aris Jones, a significant character in the "Maze Runner 2."
After The Gladersescape the maze, they meet Aris and discover his connection to the maze and the people who built it.
Lofland had a memorable performance as Neckbone in "Mud," opposite Matthew McConaughey, and in "Little Accidents" with Elizabeth Banks.
He will also appear in History's "Texas Rising" premiering Memorial Day 2015.
