Beyonce Harvard Latest News: Harvard Business School Does A Case Study On SInger's Success; What Did They Find Out?

| By

No, Beyonce is not gonna be a Harvard graduate anytime soon, but fans believe she got something better: They just did a whole study on the success behind her business.

The study particularly analyses the strategies behind the launch of Beyonce's "secret" album that was done last 2013. The co-writer, Anita Elberse, who works with Stacie Smith in the case study, interviewed Beyonce's team at Parkwood Entertainment, also including those who were involved in the surprise launch that caught the whole world unguarded, Apple, Colombia Records ad Facebook.

According to Vogue:

"Elberse learned that the physical albums did not go into production until the online reveal had taken place to prevent leaks, and Beyoncé's team had secret meetings with Apple, who unveiled the album on iTunes, and Facebook to ensure support for the launch. The singer rented a house in the Hamptons with her team where they could record over a condensed period. They worked on several songs at a time, going from room to room and receiving input from a variety of people. Unbelievably, all 17 of the album's music videos were produced within three months.

'[Beyonce] doesn't often sit in her office,' Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, Parkwood's general manager, revealed. 'She usually walks from one office to the other, speaking with the staff. She'll come to my office and talk to me, or she will sit in the back and give notes on projects we are working on... She has got a really good sense of the business side, but she doesn't like to live there always. We often laugh about how an hour into a business meeting she will get up and will start walking around. I can see it then - that I've lost her, and that I have satiated the amount of business that she wants to discuss that day. I'll usually say something like 'Let's stop. You are going to say 'Yes,' but you are not listening to me anymore.' She knows herself, will laugh, and say 'You are absolutely right, I am done.' Because at the end of the day she is an artist, and her passion for art drives her.

She's clearly among the most powerful people in the music industry at the moment, so to understand the operation behind such a powerful figure is always very interesting,' Elberse explained."

The case study, aptly titled "Beyonce - The Study," is set to be taught to the students attending Elberte's class, "Strategic Marketing in Creative Industries". It will be available in early October.
