The reason for Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo's break up is a third party, claimed the woman who allegedly caused it. Model Carmen Ortega reportedly told Star Magazine that the "Talk Dirty" singer claimed to be single when they had a fling.
Ortega said they dated for a month while Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo were still engaged. "We went out in public with friends a few times, so I assumed he didn't have a girlfriend," she told the publication. But she claimed to have broken ties with the singer after she learned that he was still with Sparks.
The 30-year-old model had made the same claims in 2009, with Reggie Bush who was then dating Kim Kardashian.
Meanwhile, after keeping her silence about the split, Sparks has finally spoken and revealed that she decided to give back the BMW Derulo gave her.
"I haven't really had time to think about it, but yeah, I probably will," admitted Sparks on "The Wendy Williams Show."
She also opened up about her current status, saying: "I'm good, really. I'm exploring my neighborhood. I'm finding places [where] I like to eat [and] meeting new people. It's been really great."
Sparks has remained silent about the cause of their break up. "You know, when you answer things that haven't even been said yet, it kind of ... makes people go, 'Well, wait a minute, I didn't even think about that," she said in an interview with ABC News Radio. "So, for me I'm just like ... you know, there's not really anything for me to say."
On the other hand, Derulo cited the pressure of getting married as the reason for their relationship's demise.
"Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time," Derulo told Ryan Seacrest in an interview.
Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo were together for three years before the latter called it quits via a phone call.
