Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey have been compared ever since the former debuted her album "Yours Truly."
Many have found similarities between Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey to be fascinating, especially because the 21-year-old showcases singing prowess that can match the "Elusive Chanteuse"'s.
But even while talks have been ongoing for quite a while, neither of the two have spoken about it until Grande shared what she felt to Us Weekly.
"Mariah has been a huge influence on me since I was a little girl," said the "Problem" singer. "I've even done a cover of one of her songs." (The song she was referring to was Carey's 1991 hit "Emotions.)
"I don't think there are any negatives to being compared to one of the greatest vocalists of all time," she continued. "It's honestly a great honor."
Both Grande and Carey have been tagged as divas but not in a positive way.
Grande has been accused many times of being a spoiled brat. A recent report on New York Daily News said the singer allegedly had all the people staying in the lobby of the Out Hotel in New York booted before she arrived.
"Before she got there she made security clear out the entire lobby. Even if you were a guest at the hotel you had to clear out," a source reportedly told the Daily News. "No one could sit in the lobby, but she came in the back. She took up a unisex bathroom with her mother and father and put two bodyguards outside."
Many reports comparing Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey in terms of their demands and demeanor have come up and E!News anchor Giuliana Rancic affirmed the speculations. Rancic shared that the singer showed "a little bit of a diva thing going on" when they met on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
She recalled the incident, saying: "I remember, I think it was at the AMAs, she came up on the platform, and normally I stand on his side [her left side] to the camera. I had to fight 13 years to get this side to the camera, it's my good side, but I fought 13 years for thi, OK?"
"Little Ariana comes over, I fell like 'bing', elbow in my side, I'm like, 'What's going on?' and they push me to the other side," she continued.
Grande has answered all the allegations via several posts on her Twitter account.
