The first two episodes of 'The Voice' season 2 introduced viewers to new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharell. That first week helped the audience get used to the iconic bantering among coaches as well as reminded everyone of Adam Levine and Blake Shelton's love-hate bromance.
With his sincere pieces of advice and passive-aggressive comments, the 'Happy' hitmaker was quickly tagged as the nice guy on the show. Oftentimes, his flowery words and relaxed aura worked to get some of the best contestants join his team.
The 'Just A Girl' singer, on the other hand, used her experience in performing on stage and fashion labels to bring people into her team. She was a good sport, too. Taking on jokes from Levine and Shelton and brushing it off like she was just dealing with her No Doubt members.
However, episode three turned up the tension in the room.
Coaches became more careful in pressing their red buttons, worried that they'd miss out on amazing singers later on if they fill their group up right away.
'The Voice' season 7 contestants Kelli Douglas and Blessing Ofor, however, earned the coaches' attention with their amazing voices and stage presence.
Douglas' performed a soulful rendition of 'Danny's Song' with a touch of Lauryn Hill's stage presence if not her voice. Levine had to turn his flirt on to draw her into his team.
R&B singer Ofor had been blind since childhood but that did stop him from making all four coaches press their red buttons. After self-deliberating and assessing the four coaches' reasons, he chose to go with Pharell.
When it comes to raw talent, Mia Pfirrman takes the cake. She sang Katy Perry's 'Unconditionally' and made it her own. All four mentors were too curious not to press their buttons. She opted to have the Maroon 5 frontman coach her for the show.
After singing 'Sweet Pea,' John Martin chose Blake Shelton hoping that the country star will help him become a better performer. He also confessed that he loves singing cheesy love songs.
After episode three, each coach has about five contestants to mentor. Which 'The Voice' season 7 contestant caught your attention so far?
