Emma Watson: HeForShe Campaign Gets Support From Tom Hiddleston, Russell Crowe, Harry Styles And More Male Celebrities!

| By

When Emma Waston's HeForShe Campaign was launched last September 20, the 24-year-old actress asked for help from men and boys all over the world to help end gender inequality and violence against women and little girls.

Needless to say, she impressed UN secretary Ban Ki-moon and other world leaders at the UN headquarters in New York City.

A couple of days later, she took the campaign to Twitter. Social media has been a very effective platform to spread awareness for various causes.

"Wonderful men out there," the recent Brown graduate posted on Twitter. "I'm launching a campaign - #heforshe. Support the women in ur lives and sign up here now!"

Her call was promptly answered by several male celebrities. Among them, Tom Hiddleston, Russell Crowe, Logan Lerman, Harry Styles, Simon Pegg, and Luke Newberry.

Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki in the 'Thor' franchise, expressed his awe at the young actress by signing up for the campaign.

"@EmWatson you are impeccable [and] extraordinary. I stand with you. I believe in gender equality. #heforshe," he captioned a photo of himself holding a HeForShe sign. He also posted a tweet with a link of Watson's speech for the UN assembly.

Joseph Gordon Levitt joined the movement by writing, "Join the conversation RE:#Feminism for our TV show. I consider myself a Feminist - what about you?"

One Direction's Harry Styles heeded Emma Watson's HeForShe call as well.

"Husband to a wife, father to a daughter, son to a mother. You bet I'm on board, @EmWatson!#heforshe," Simon Pegg answered the 'Harry Potter' star, too.

Meanwhile, 'Noah' actor Russell Crowe, 'Glee' star Chris Colfer, Watson's 'Potter' co-star Matthew Lewis, and fantasy writer Neil Gaiman showed off their own photos with the 'HeForShe' hashtag.
