A Sam's Club shopper is considering leaving after the store's early shopping policy took her by surprise. The policy sets different shopping hours for members based on their subscription types, leading to her frustration.

Shoppers Upset by Sam's Club Hours

The difference in trading hours has unexpectedly upset some Sam's Club shoppers. They expressed concerns that the policy might drive them to cancel their memberships.

Cami Hughes-Ross indicated on Facebook that she might end her membership due to the restrictive hours. She noted that non-Plus members cannot shop before 10 a.m., a policy that left her visibly frustrated, as shown by angry emojis in her post.

However, some mentioned that the early hours are a special benefit for Plus members at Sam's Club.

Recently, the Franchise Herald also reported that another frustrated shoppers took to Facebook to express their disappointment with Sam's Club's policy, arguing that store hours should be the same for all shoppers.

They criticized the retailer for making regular members feel second-rate. The customer also suggested that while this strategy might encourage some to upgrade to the Plus membership, it could ultimately turn others away from the store.

Club members on Reddit have been actively debating the implications of shopping during the hours reserved for Plus members at Sam's Club. The discussion focuses on whether regular Club members would be allowed to enter the store during these exclusive hours.

Some members believe the staff would check membership statuses at the entrance, while others think issues would only arise at the checkout registers.

One customer noted that the register automatically detects a Club membership and might prompt shoppers to consider an upgrade.

Another shopper explained that non-Plus members would have either to upgrade their membership or shop during regular hours, highlighting that early access comes with a cost.

A satisfied Plus member appreciated the measures in place, which ensure that only eligible members enjoy certain benefits, valuing the system's role in maintaining fairness.

According to The U.S. Sun, Sam's Club Plus subscribers enjoy shopping early, entering the warehouses two hours before those with a standard weekday membership and one hour earlier on Saturdays. This early access is just one of the many benefits available to Plus members.

While a standard membership costs $50 annually, a Plus subscription costs $110. However, Sam's Club occasionally runs promotions, such as a special deal allowing shoppers to purchase a membership for just $20, although this offer ends today, July 7.

In addition to early shopping on holidays like Labor Day, Plus members benefit from free curbside pickup and shipping. Unlike standard members who pay an additional $4, Plus members can use the curbside pick-up service from 7 a.m. from Monday to Saturday without extra charges.

Members must provide an order number and ID when picking up groceries. At the warehouse, they park in a designated spot, log into the chain's app, and then a worker loads their groceries into their car.

Furthermore, Plus members enjoy discounts on car maintenance services, such as 50% off tire installations, when purchasing four sets. The membership includes enhanced optical and pharmaceutical benefits, offering 20% off sunglasses purchases.

With hundreds of stores nationwide, Sam's Club continues to add value to its premium membership, attracting customers with these additional perks.
