Trader Joe's has returned a $5.99 ready-to-eat item but hasn't received a warm welcome from customers. Many shoppers have disliked the product, with one customer even saying it was so terrible that they tossed it after just one bite.

Customers have spotted both the California rolls and vegetable rolls back on the shelves in the refrigerator section at their local stores.

According to Trader Joe's website, the California rolls feature imitation crab made from Alaskan pollock, cucumber, and avocado, wrapped in white rice seasoned with rice vinegar and nori seaweed, and topped with white and black sesame seeds.

The vegetable rolls contain a mix of carrots, avocado, and cucumber. Each pack, containing six rolls, is priced at $5.99. The Trader Joe's website describes the California rolls as being made in the traditional Japanese

Sushi Disappoints at Trader Joe's

The U.S. Sun revealed that Trader Joe's recent reintroduction of sushi rolls has not met customer expectations, with many expressing dissatisfaction on Reddit.

One customer, self-described as an indiscriminate sushi lover, reported throwing their sushi away after just one bite due to its poor quality. Another customer recalled a negative experience from 2010 that turned them off sushi for nearly eight years until they visited a traditional Japanese restaurant.

Further complaints highlighted the quality of the rice, with one customer noting it was inferior to typical supermarket sushi and significantly worse than what is offered at Whole Foods.

In a telling instance, a customer shared that a Trader Joe's cashier had advised against purchasing the sushi, deeming it one of the worst items to buy from the store. This advice led them to reconsider their purchase at the checkout.

According to Yahoo, customers continue to express dissatisfaction with Trader Joe's sushi, a product that has been part of the store's selection for over five years.

One Redditor expressed skepticism about whether the sushi had improved or remained as unappealing as before.

Adding to the negative feedback, a former employee of Trader Joe's shared their long-standing disappointment with the sushi, noting that it was the only product they did not recommend during their tenure at the store.

Despite its availability for several years, the sushi still fails to meet customer expectations.

Trader Joe's has added several new items to its summer lineup, but not all have received a warm welcome. Among the reintroduced items are the baked pizza-flavored pillow crisps, per The U.S. Sun.

Despite the store's description of them as a light and savory snack, some customers have been less than impressed. One customer on Reddit described the crisps as "absolute trash," giving them a zero out of ten rating and complaining about the lack of pizza flavor.

Additionally, shoppers have been frustrated over the return of a summer staple that came with two changes, further adding to the dissatisfaction.

On a positive note, a new item priced at $3.99 in the fresh produce section has been received much more favorably, contrasting sharply with the other less successful reintroductions.
