Pringles has launched a new product, its first unique release in 15 years. However, some customers believe this new item resembles a snack from another company.

Pringles Launches First Bagged Snack in 15 Years

Pringles has introduced a new product called Pringles Mingles, a puffed snack in three flavors. This marks the first time in 15 years that Pringles sells a product in bags instead of its iconic cans.

Pringles Mingles is "a puffy, irresistibly delicious, and shareable snacking experience." The snacks will be crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside.

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Pringles Mingles will join Pirate's Booty, Veggie Puffs, and Cheetos. Pringles Mingles offers a puffed version of the iconic potato crisp unlike those corn-based snacks.

Each variety combines two popular Pringles flavors into one, creating a burst of crispy goodness. The new flavors include Cheddar and sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar and ranch, and Dill Pickle and ranch.

Each puff is shaped like a bowtie, a nod to Mr. P's classic style.

Pringles Mingles will be part of the company's permanent lineup and available in stores this fall. The company announced the new snack at an expo in May. Look for the latest bags alongside the iconic cans in snacking aisles.

The U.S. Sun reported that the puffed snack is crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. This marks a departure from the brand's traditional can packaging, as the new flavors will be sold in snack bags.

"Our iconic Pringles can is part of our identity - and it's not going anywhere - but we're always looking for new ways to innovate and satisfy our fans' latest cravings," said Mauricio Jenkins, US marketing lead for Pringles.

He added that the new puffy, airy snack provides a new way to experience Pringles and offers easy-to-share packaging, making it ideal for movie nights, parties, or on-the-go snacking.

Pringles Mingles will be available at grocery and convenience stores nationwide.

Pringles' New Mingles Compared to Goldfish

Some consumers believe the new Pringles Mingles were inspired by the launch of Goldfish Crisps in December 2023. The Goldfish Crisps introduced a "light airy" take on the classic fish-shaped snack, released in three flavors.

Responding to a Facebook post about Pringles Mingles, one commented, "It's giving the new Goldfish Crisps concept." Another noted they "sound an awful lot like the recent Goldfish Crisps in texture."

Since its launch in 1968, Pringles has become one of the most recognizable snacks in the world. The signature can be designed to address customer complaints about broken pieces and empty air in bags of chips.

Pringles have a lower potato content than many other chips, just 42%, with the rest made up of wheat starch, flour, vegetable oils, emulsifiers, salt, and seasoning.

Meanwhile, several new snacks have recently hit store shelves. Minute Rice introduced a hot honey chicken flavor to tap into the famous "swicy" trend, combining sweet and spicy. Wheaties launched Wheaties Protein, offering the highest protein content in the cereal aisle.

Harvest Snaps debuted its first line of fruit snacks aimed at children. Kraft introduced new Buffalo mayo and garlic aioli for condiment lovers. Additionally, Walmart unveiled a new private-label line featuring affordable snacks.
