Bargain Alert: Five Below's Owala Dupe Shakes Up the Water Bottle Market

| By

Shoppers looking for good deals on water bottles have something to cheer about. As prices keep rising in stores, people are turning to social media to find ways to save money.

Five Below: Discover Affordable Owala Dupes

TikTok has become a hotspot for finding affordable versions of popular products.

Shoppers have spotted a budget-friendly alternative to the costly Owala water bottles at Five Below. In a recent video, Alana Uscier (@mamalana.co) showed off a water bottle from the store that looks just like the Owala one but costs only $5.

She shared her find with the following note: "Now my son can have his own at 1/4 the price."

While an Owala water bottle typically sells for $27.99, buying from Five Below could save shoppers nearly $23.

Five Below, a bargain store started in Pennsylvania in 2002, lives up to its name by pricing most items at $5 or less. However, there's a special section called Five Beyond, where everything is under $20.

This store's low-priced goods fit the trend of finding dupes, which are especially popular with Gen Z. Dupes or duplicates resemble more expensive products but come with much smaller price tags.

Zillennial Explores Gen Z's Bargain Finds

Business Insider's Jennifer Ortakales Dawkins noted that Gen Z is especially keen on finding knockoffs, preferring budget-friendly versions of products more than any other generation.

As a Zillennial caught between millennials and Gen Z, I found myself influenced by the younger generation's shopping habits during a recent trip to Five Below.

She added that her initial visit to the store in December left a positive impression. On her follow-up visit, she wondered which affordable alternatives to pricier items she could uncover. She was hopeful about finding valuable finds but kept my expectations in check.

Dawkins visited a Manhattan Five Below in December with a $50 budget, finding fun stocking stuffers. A subsequent trip to a Long Island location in February showed no difference in quality or selection.

With water bottles becoming trendy accessories and the preferred brands shifting rapidly from S'well to Hydro Flask, Stanley, and Owala, the focus was on finding affordable alternatives. The Stanley Quencher, a popular 40-ounce stainless steel tumbler, has seen a surge in popularity, boosting Stanley's revenue significantly.

At Five Below, a Hydraquench tumbler, similar to the Stanley cup in size, shape, and capacity, was found for just $5.55, saving the shopper nearly $30. Additionally, water bottle bags or pouches have become essential accessories, allowing for easy carrying of water bottles and small personal items, highlighting the trend towards practical and stylish hydration solutions.

Meanwhile, good news for those aiming to enhance their home decor without spending a fortune: A savvy TikTok recently revealed finding a budget-friendly version of her beloved swivel chair on Wayfair, costing significantly less than the original.

The sought-after chair, originally priced at $1,000, was spotted on Wayfair for just $350. This chair, known as the Arijit 34" Wide Boucle Upholstered Swivel Armchair, offers a stylish and comfortable addition to any room at a fraction of the cost.

The buyer shared her excitement and satisfaction with this affordable find. This instance highlights a valuable tip for home decorators: luxury looks don't always have to come with luxury price tags. Searching for dupes can lead to substantial savings while achieving the desired aesthetic.
